This play was born out of a need to tell a Canadian Christmas story. I took my collection of LM Montgomery Christmas stories to Jeremy Tow, AD of Chemainus Theatre at the time, and he and I resounded with the same two stories: Aunt Cyrilla's Christmas Basket and Christmas at Red Butte. Jeremy and David and I then went on to weave the two stories together and create songs for the stuck train travelers on route to Charlettown one Christmas Eve.
